13th March, 2022
Organized by: Maharishi law School in coordination with IQAC.
Objective of the Visit: The primary objective of the jail visit was to offer students insights into the functioning of the judicial system and correctional facilities and to sensitize students towards the realities of incarceration and its impact on society.
Maharishi Law School in coordination with IQAC organized a visit to the local jail facility on 13th March 2022. This initiative aimed to provide students with a practical understanding of the judicial system, correctional processes, and to instill a sense of social responsibility. Five students along with the faculty in charge Mr. Arun Kumar (Assistant Professor, MLS) participated in the visit.
The visit commenced with an orientation session conducted by the jail authorities. They provided an overview of the facility, its operations, and the rehabilitation programs offered to inmates. Students were taken on a guided tour of the jail premises, including the cells, recreational areas, and vocational training workshops. They observed firsthand the living conditions of inmates and the facilities available to them.
Following the visit, a feedback session was conducted to gather insights from students about their experiences. Many expressed deep reflections on the societal issues surrounding incarceration and the importance of rehabilitation in the justice system.
