Education would be much more effective if its purpose was to ensure that by the time they leave school, every boy and girl should know how much they do not know, and be imbued with a lifelong desire to know it.
This is wise dictum which Ajay Prakash Shrivastava, Chancellor, Maharishi University of Information Technology, feels, is important for the educators to perpetuate thinking minds. A devout disciple of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who, in the second half of the 20th century, took the world by storm, with his mastery and teachings of Bhavateet Dhyan (Transcendental Meditation). Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was a student of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math Peeth, just like Prakash’s father Shri Jageshwar Prasad Shrivastava too was. While doing his B.Sc., Prakash started devoting his time in learning Maharishi’s philosophy of Vedic science. He would travel with him and would even cook food for him. “Maharishi was a great soul. I am fortunate that while I was with him, I explored the unlimited potential of the Transcendental Meditation (TM).
