HackVSIT 3.0” at VIPS, Pitampura
I along with some of my friends from 1st year, 2nd year , 3rd year and P.G./M.Sc. under the team name “Red Hawks” and “Divacode” went to Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS), Pitampura for HackVSIT 3.0.
The experience and the magnificence we got there was incomprehensible because you know no one forgets their first love and neither would my friends and I forget our first ever 24+ hours Hackathon “HackVSIT” organized by ACE club of VIPS partnered with MLH and other organizations. The feeling was just amazing. Not only did the knowledge gained there count but also the atmosphere and the superb hospitality given to us by the hosts make the experience even more pleasant and memory-lasting.
We were not alone in being first timer Hackathoner’s, there were many more in whose valuable company we were. Being able to interact and gain insights from them and their work was the biggest takeaway from the event. We had a very lovely time with our work, peers and also the hosts, who took their every strain possible to make our time pleasant, coming up with Sprints, Story Acting of the Werewolf by MLH (I being a ghost once) and many more such memorable events.
We also had nice food served and a nice atmosphere for our time well spent. A very comfortable and secure environ out there where everything was professional with a personal touch of compassion by the teachers and mentors there. We had good security for girls and boys alike and no ill-towards incident happened.
Coming to our topic, “Red Hawks” worked on an app based solution for the farmers and others in consideration to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) laid down by the UN.
While, “Divacode” worked on an app on women empowerment solution.
We were judged upon by eminent judges of various backgrounds and fields, who in turn, showered their light of knowledge upon us and enlightened us with their views and suggestions which will help us, further in our career.
After the event we were provided with memorable tokens and stickers along with e-certificates, and were invited again for the event the coming year. We gave our word to be present the next time around and even try our level best to be the winners’ the next time around, get the feeling to stand out to our peers and distinguished judges and present our views to the world around us.
We learnt various things there like we should use our knowledge and wisdom to cater to the needs of the people, poor and needy around us. We should be able to prosper and make other’s prosper with us.
We also learnt that we should use our talents to the fullest and optimize our limitations to the unbounded proficiency in our work and wisdom.
“Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life’s deepest joy: true fulfillment.”
