Objective of the Visit:

 

The objective of the visit was to provide D. Pharm 1st-year students with practical exposure to Ayurvedic drug manufacturing processes at Maharishi Ayurveda. The visit aimed to help students understand the integration of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern pharmaceutical techniques, including raw material handling, herbal extraction, formulation development, quality control, and packaging. It also sought to familiarise students with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and industry standards followed in the herbal pharmaceutical sector, thereby enhancing their practical knowledge and encouraging interest in Ayurvedic and herbal drug research and production.

 

D. Pharm 1st-year students of Maharishi School of Pharmaceuticals, Maharishi University of Information Technology, visited Maharishi Ayurveda on 20 February 2026 to gain practical exposure to Ayurvedic drug manufacturing. The facility is located at Plot 17 and 18, Synapse India Road, Bhangel Road, Noida Special Economic Zone, Phase-2, Noida, Uttar Pradesh – 201305. The students were accompanied and guided by faculty members Dr. Priya Chaturvedi and Mr. Dhananjay Mishra.

During the visit, students observed various stages of the manufacturing process, including raw material processing, herbal extraction, formulation development, packaging, and quality control procedures. The experts explained the preparation of classical Ayurvedic formulations and emphasised the importance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in maintaining product quality and safety.

This industrial visit enhanced the students’ understanding of traditional Ayurvedic medicine integrated with modern pharmaceutical standards. Overall, the visit was informative and enriching, strengthening their knowledge and encouraging their interest in the herbal pharmaceutical industry
