Objective

The objective of the educational visit was to bridge the gap between classroom-based theoretical learning and real-world exposure by allowing students to witness a live national media debate. The visit aimed to enhance students’ understanding of higher education policies, social equity issues, democratic discourse, and the functioning of broadcast media.

Participation

A total of 14 students from Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT) participated in the educational visit under faculty supervision.

Event Details

On 30th January 2026, a group of 14 students from Maharishi University visited the India TV Studio, Noida, to observe a live recording of the flagship debate show “Muqabala.” The debate was anchored by Mr. Saurav Sharma and focused on the topic “UGC 2026 Rules and SC/ST Discrimination in Higher Education.”

The discussion featured prominent panelists:

  • Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, Member of Parliament and BJP National Spokesperson, who explained the legislative intent behind the UGC 2026 regulations and the government’s approach toward institutional inclusivity.
  • Acharya Pramod Krishnam, Political and Spiritual Leader, who critically evaluated the guidelines, raising concerns regarding their implementation and socio-political consequences.

Students also observed the technical and operational aspects of live television production, including camera coordination, floor management, audience interaction, and communication between the anchor and the control room.

Outcome of the Event

The visit resulted in significant academic and experiential learning outcomes. Students developed a deeper understanding of how educational policies are debated and communicated in the public domain. Exposure to opposing viewpoints strengthened their critical thinking and analytical skills. Observing live media production enhanced their media literacy, while participation as a live audience encouraged civic awareness and engagement in democratic processes.

Institutional Outcome

The visit reinforced Maharishi University’s commitment to experiential and exposure-driven learning. Such initiatives contribute to holistic student development by integrating academic knowledge with practical observation and civic consciousness. The activity strengthened the institution’s efforts toward value-based education, social awareness, and active student participation in national discourse.
