Introduction

The Engineer’s Day Celebration 2025 was organized with great enthusiasm by the Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology (MSoET), Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT), Noida Campus, in association with IQAC. The celebration aimed to honor the spirit of engineering, innovation, and creativity by providing students with a platform to showcase their technical skills and knowledge across various streams. Two major events marked the occasion:

  • Welding Competition
  • Tech Challenge Quiz

Event 1: Welding Competition

The Welding Competition was one of the most engaging and skill-oriented activities of the Engineer’s Day Celebration 2025. It was organized in the Engineering Workshop of MSoET, MUIT, Noida Campus.

The event attracted 53 Diploma students from diverse disciplines, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, and Civil Engineering (2nd and 3rd Year). The large participation reflected the students’ enthsiasm and eagerness to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical, real-world scenarios.

The competition was divided into two stages:

  1. Quiz Round – The event began with a technical quiz, designed to test the students’ understanding of engineering fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and logical reasoning. The quiz served as a filter to shortlist participants who demonstrated strong academic knowledge. Out of the 53 students, 28 participants qualified for the next stage.
  2. Welding Round – The shortlisted students were then divided into five teams to participate in the hands-on welding challenge. In this round, students were tasked with moulding and welding stool-type iron objects. This required not only technical skills in welding but also teamwork, creativity, and practical application of engineering concepts. The atmosphere in the workshop was filled with excitement and competitive spirit as teams collaborated to complete their projects under time constraints.

The results of the competition were as follows:

  • Winner: Team led by Ajay Kumar
  • 1st Runner-Up: Team led by Meenakshi Jha

The Welding Competition was an excellent platform for Diploma students to demonstrate their craftsmanship, strengthen their confidence in technical work, and appreciate the importance of practical training in engineering education.

Event 2: Tech Challenge Quiz

The second major highlight of the Engineer’s Day Celebration was the Tech Challenge Quiz: Driving India’s Techade, organized by MSoET in association with IQAC and coordinated by the student club Social Technocrats (STc). The event focused on testing and enhancing the students’ technical acumen as well as their ability to think critically and articulate their views.

The competition witnessed the active participation of 60+ students from multiple streams:

  • B.Tech (Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity)
  • BCA (No Stream & AIML)

This broad participation highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the event, encouraging knowledge exchange among students from different backgrounds.

The event was structured in two competitive rounds:

  1. Round 1: Technical Quiz – The first round was a written quiz that assessed the participants’ knowledge across various domains of computer science, emerging technologies, and logical problem-solving. The questions were designed to challenge students’ grasp of fundamentals as well as their awareness of modern trends. Based on performance, 10–12 students were shortlisted for the final round.
  2. Round 2: Group Discussion (GD) – The shortlisted participants entered into an intellectually stimulating Group Discussion on the on-the-spot topic:
    “Will AI replace human intelligence?”
Students showcased their analytical abilities, critical thinking, and communication skills as they argued from multiple perspectives. Some students emphasized AI’s potential to automate repetitive tasks, while others highlighted the irreplaceable value of human creativity, emotional intelligence, and ethical decision-making. The session was highly interactive and reflected the students’ balanced approach toward technological progress.

The results of the Tech Challenge Quiz were as follows:

  • 1st Position: Priyanshu (B.Tech Cybersecurity, 2nd Year)
  • 2nd Position: Krishna (B.Tech Computer Science, 2nd Year)
  • 3rd Position: Shrishti (B.Tech Computer Science, 1st Year)

The event not only enhanced the participants’ confidence in public speaking but also encouraged them to stay informed about the future implications of AI and other disruptive technologies.

Conclusion

The Engineer’s Day Celebration 2025 at MUIT Noida Campus, organized by the Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology (MSoET) in association with IQAC, was a memorable success. The event brought together students from diverse streams to celebrate the spirit of engineering through both practical and intellectual competitions.

The Welding Competition allowed Diploma students to showcase their technical expertise, creativity, and teamwork by progressing through a quiz and hands-on welding challenge. Similarly, the Tech Challenge Quiz engaged B.Tech and BCA students in a test of technical knowledge and critical thinking, culminating in an insightful group discussion on “Will AI replace human intelligence?”

Together, these events highlighted the students’ enthusiasm, innovation, and problem-solving abilities. The celebration not only strengthened their technical confidence but also inspired them to think critically about future challenges in engineering and technology.

The Engineer’s Day Celebration 2025 truly reflected MUIT’s vision of blending academic learning with practical exposure, fostering the all-round development of its students.
