Introduction
The School of Yoga, Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT), Noida, successfully conducted a four-day yoga retreat titled “Abode of the Divine Mind: Yoga and Transcendental Meditation” from 17 to 20 November 2025 at ISOL Nature Resort, Rishikesh. The retreat was designed to impart experiential knowledge of yoga, Ayurveda, Transcendental Meditation (TM), natural healing practices, and cultural exposure to the Himalayan region. A total of 35 students and 5 faculty members participated in the retreat.
Travel summary
- Departure: 17 November 2025, 7:00 AM, from the MUIT Noida campus.
- Arrival at Rishikesh: Around 1:00 PM at ISOL Nature Resort.
- Return: 20 November 2025, 2:00 PM, departure from Rishikesh to MUIT Noida.
Day 1 – 17 November 2025
Arrival, Ayurvedic diagnosis and TM practice
- Departure at 6:00 AM from MUIT and arrival at Rishikesh by 1:00 PM.
- Rooms were allocated and students settled at the resort.
- Nadi Pariksha session (3:30 PM – 5:00 PM):
Students learned pulse diagnosis under the guidance of an Ayurvedic doctor, gaining an understanding of doshic variations and basic diagnostic techniques.
- Transcendental Meditation (5:00 PM – 5:30 PM):
The first group TM session was conducted for mental relaxation and clarity.
- Nature walk:
A gentle walk through the resort gardens to experience grounding in nature.
- High tea.
- Silence and rest period to encourage inner awareness.
- Dinner followed by bonfire and games, with music, interaction, and community building.
Day 2 – 18 November 2025
Yoga, TM, Beatles Ashram visit and Ganga Aarti
- Morning yoga session (6:00 AM – 8:00 AM):
Yogasanas, pranayama, and kriyas.
- TM session (8:00 AM – 8:30 AM) followed by breakfast.
- Games and group activities (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM) for coordination and bonding.
- Visit to Beatles Ashram and Ganga Aarti (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM):
Students explored Shankaracharya Kutir (Beatles Ashram), its meditation huts, murals, and spiritual ambiance, followed by attending the sacred Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan.
- Upon return:
TM session, nature walk, high tea, dinner, and bonfire cultural night.
Day 3 – 19 November 2025
Yoga therapy, local sightseeing and community night
- Advanced yoga and TM (6:00 AM – 8:00 AM):
Higher-level asanas and meditation practice.
- After breakfast and rest, students participated in:
- Yoga therapy session (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
Understanding therapeutic sequencing, breathwork for healing, and condition-based modifications.
- Visit to Patna Waterfall (1:30 PM – 5:00 PM):
A serene local excursion that included meditation at the site.
- Evening activities included:
TM session, connecting with nature therapy, high tea, dinner, and a final bonfire celebration.
Day 4 – 20 November 2025
Closing day and departure
- Morning packing and refreshment.
- Farewell breakfast (8:30 AM – 9:00 AM).
- Students departed at 2:00 PM from ISOL Nature Resort, concluding the retreat.
Cultural and educational highlights
Garhwali cultural immersion:
Students visited Vijni Village, where they learned about:
- Garhwali lifestyle
- Local food traditions
- Agriculture and sustainability practices
- Folk rituals and customs
This visit enriched the students’ cultural understanding and deepened their connection to Himalayan heritage.
Conclusion
The “Abode of the Divine Mind: Yoga and Transcendental Meditation” retreat proved to be a transformative educational journey for all participants. Through a blend of yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, adventure, and cultural exploration, students experienced holistic growth aligned with the vision of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and the principles of yogic education. The retreat concluded successfully and received enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty
