Objectives:

  • To familiarize students with the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the modern media landscape.
  • To introduce the ADiRA initiative and its relevance to digital readiness and advancement in media practices.
  • To help students understand the applications of AI in storytelling, data analysis, fact-checking, and ethical reporting.
  • To encourage the adoption of AI tools for innovation in content creation, audience engagement, and newsroom operations.
  • To enhance students’ AI literacy and prepare them for technology-driven careers in media and communication.

On 4th October 2025, the Department of Media, School of Media and Animation, Noida Campus, organized an online workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence (ADiRA – AI for Digital Readiness & Advancement).” The workshop aimed to familiarize students with the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in the rapidly evolving media landscape.

The session was conducted by Dr. Nimish Kapoor, Scientist at the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and a Master Trainer of the ADiRA initiative.

Dr. Kapoor highlighted the importance of AI tools in enhancing digital readiness and driving innovation in content creation, audience engagement, and newsroom operations. During the interactive session, he explained how AI is reshaping storytelling, improving data analysis, and assisting in fact-checking and ethical reporting. He emphasized the need for media students to develop AI literacy to stay relevant in a technology-driven industry.

Around 60 participants, including students and faculty members, attended the workshop and actively engaged in discussions. The students asked pertinent questions about AI applications in journalism and digital media. The session concluded on a positive note, encouraging further exploration and deliberation in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
