Objectives:
On 3rd October 2025, the Department of Media, School of Media and Animation, Noida Campus, organized a workshop titled “How Newsrooms are Shifting from TV to Digital Platforms.” The workshop aimed to acquaint students with evolving trends and the essential skills required to navigate the transition of newsrooms from traditional television to digital media.
The resource person for the session was Mr. Yudhishthir Upadhyay, Multimedia Producer and YouTube Lead at Zee News. In his address, he emphasized that strong reading and writing skills form the foundation of a successful career in journalism. He encouraged students to cultivate the habit of regularly reading newspapers, magazines, and credible online sources to stay informed and enhance their language proficiency and analytical abilities.
Mr. Upadhyay also highlighted the importance of consistent writing practice, underscoring clarity, accuracy, and ethical reporting as critical elements for building credibility as a journalist. A substantial part of the workshop focused on the digital transformation of newsrooms, where he explained how technology-driven platforms are reshaping news production and dissemination.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, during which students engaged with the expert to gain deeper insights and broaden their understanding of the subject. The event came to a close with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person and everyone involved in successfully organizing the workshop.
