As per the UGC norms and guidelines, Anti-Ragging Day is observed on 12th August every year followed by Anti-Ragging Week from 12th to 18th August to raise awareness against ragging and to ensure a safe and respectful campus environment.

In alignment with these directives, the Anti-Ragging Committee, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized Anti-Ragging Day at Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT), Noida Campus with great zeal and participation. The celebration highlighted MUIT’s strong commitment to nurturing a safe, inclusive, and ragging-free learning environment.

Objectives of the Program

  • To raise awareness about the psychological, social, and legal consequences of ragging.
  • To promote values of discipline, equality, and mutual respect among students.
  • To encourage peer bonding and positive interaction within the university community.
  • To strengthen MUIT’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.
  • To provide a creative platform for students to express their views against ragging.
  • To encourage students to advocate for a ragging-free campus through creativity and peer influence.
  • To reinforce the importance of a safe, disciplined, and respectful academic environment.

Participation

The event saw enthusiastic participation from more than 120 students across the following seven schools:

  • Maharishi School of Engineering & Technology
  • Maharishi School of Business Management
  • Maharishi School of Law
  • School of Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Maharishi School of Media & Animation
  • Maharishi School of Humanities
  • Maharishi School of Science of Consciousness

Event Highlights

The celebration began with an awareness address by faculty members, emphasizing empathy, discipline, and the importance of maintaining a harmonious campus environment.

Two student competitions were also organized as part of the event:

  1. Slogan Writing Competition – Students created short, inspiring slogans reflecting values of respect, equality, and friendship. Selected slogans were displayed across the campus to inspire fellow students.
  2. Poster Making Competition – On the theme “Say No to Ragging”, students designed creative posters carrying strong messages of harmony, peace, and discipline.

Conclusion

The Anti-Ragging Day at MUIT Noida was not just a commemoration but also a reaffirmation of the institution’s mission to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment. With the active participation of students from all schools, the day became a symbol of MUIT’s shared commitment towards eliminating ragging and fostering harmony within the campus.

The event concluded with a collective pledge by students and faculty:

“No to Ragging – Yes to Respect and Friendship.”
