Maharishi University of Information Technology organized a plantation drive on August 18, 2025, with the theme “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” under the Paryavaran Sarakshan Gatividhi scheme. This campaign, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, encourages individuals to plant a tree in their mother’s name, symbolizing love, respect, and care for both Mother Earth and one’s own mother.
By participating in this initiative, MUIT Noida contributed to India’s mission of increasing green cover and promoting environmental sustainability. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation and encourage sustainable practices among students and faculty members.
Students and faculty actively took part in planting a variety of medicinal herbs and plants, highlighting the importance of greenery in combating climate change. The drive was not just about planting trees but also about nurturing the planet and fostering a deeper sense of responsibility towards Mother Earth.
The event also focused on educating participants about the impact of climate change and the crucial role individuals can play in mitigating its effects. The University remains committed to organizing more such initiatives to promote a sustainable future and encourage active participation from the university community.
The event was wonderfully organized under the leadership of Dr. Shweta Bajaj (DSW) and Mr. Shivam Yadav (Convener, Event and Cultural Committee), ensuring a smooth and enriching experience for all participants, and was held in the presence of Dr. Trapty Agarwal, Dean Academics, whose support and guidance added to the success of the program
