“Case Study Competition” on Marketing, Finance and HR

Objective of the Event:
To develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. The competition aimed to prepare students for real-world business challenges, encourage innovative thinking, and build confidence and leadership abilities.

Participating Students:
MBA, B.Com, and BBA students were the primary participants of the event.

The Maharishi School of Business Management, Noida, in collaboration with IQAC, organized a Case Study Competition on Marketing, Finance, and HR on March 11th, 2025 (Tuesday) in the auditorium at MUIT, Noida Campus.

The event commenced with Guru Puja, followed by the felicitation of the guest judge, Dr. Suneel Arora, by Prof. Dr. Smita Mishra (Dean, SOBM). Dr. Arora is a visiting faculty member at IIT and a trainer at AIMA. Dean Ma’am then delivered an inspiring and energizing speech, encouraging everyone to use their imagination and think outside the box. Her words set a positive tone for the day and motivated the teams to strive for excellence in the competition.

The Case Study Competition aimed to bring out the best in students by encouraging them to apply their academic knowledge to real-world business problems. Participants worked in teams to analyze cases, identify key issues, propose solutions, and present their recommendations to the esteemed judge. A total of 14 teams participated in the event.

Judging Criteria:
The respected judge evaluated the teams based on the following criteria:

  • Problem Identification: Clarity in defining the issues at hand.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively communicate ideas, supported by data and clear visuals.
  • Teamwork: Collaboration and coordination among team members.

Team Participation:
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from both undergraduate and postgraduate business management students.
Each team comprised 2–3 members with diverse backgrounds and skill sets. This diversity enriched the discussions and helped in crafting well-rounded solutions to the case studies.
Participants explored various strategic approaches to address the given business scenarios, offering real-world solutions that could be practically implemented.

Winners and Prizes:
The competition was intense, with each team presenting impressive case studies that demonstrated creativity and strong presentation skills. After a thorough evaluation, the winners were announced:

  • Winners: Team Vipin Kr. Meena (B.Com 2nd Sem), Parvej (B.Com 2nd Sem)
  • 1st Runner-up: Team Shivam (BBA 2nd Sem), Shruti (BBA 2nd Sem)
  • 2nd Runner-up: Team Deepshikha, Komal, Anjali (BBA 4th Sem)

The winners were awarded certificates and trophies, while all other participants received certificates of participation.
The event concluded with the National Anthem and a vote of thanks by the organizing team, expressing gratitude to the respected judge, participants, and the Marketing, HR, and Finance club members whose efforts contributed to the event’s success.

The Case Study Competition at the School of Business Management, Maharishi University, effectively achieved its goal of fostering academic excellence and enhancing practical understanding. It provided students with a platform to showcase their abilities while offering valuable insights into the challenges faced by modern businesses. Events like this continue to be an essential part of the university's mission to equip future business leaders for the dynamic global marketplace.
