Introduction:

The Department of Science at the School of Science and Humanities celebrated National Science Day on 28th February 2025 with great enthusiasm. The event was organized to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman and to promote scientific awareness among students. The celebration included various activities such as poster presentations, oral presentations, and the distribution of certificates and prizes to recognize outstanding performances.

Theme of National Science Day 2025:

The theme for National Science Day 2025 was “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.” This theme emphasized the role of young minds in driving scientific advancements and innovation to position India as a global leader in science and technology. This theme emphasized the importance of scientific research and technological advancements in addressing global sustainability challenges.

Event Proceedings:

The program commenced with an inaugural session where the Dean of the School of Science and Humanities, Prof. (Dr.) Archana Pandey, addressed the gathering. The esteemed guests, Dr. Shweta Bajaj, Dr. Mudita Agarwal, Dr. Awakash Mishra, and Dr. Amrita Rathi, along with faculty members, graced the occasion. The significance of National Science Day and the contributions of Indian scientists to global research were highlighted.

Activities Performed:

  1. Poster Presentation:
    • Students displayed their creative and informative posters on various scientific themes, including environmental conservation, space exploration, and recent scientific advancements.
    • Each poster was evaluated by Dr. Awakash Mishra, Dr. Priyanka Bhardwaj and Dr. Tenzit Tyagi based on creativity, relevance, and presentation.
  2. Oral Presentation:
    • Students delivered insightful presentations on scientific topics, demonstrating their research and analytical skills.
    • The topics ranged from hydro carbons and renewable energy to medical advancements.
    • The efforts of Participants were appreciated by the judges (Dr. Awakash Mishra, Dr. Shweta Bajaj, Dr. Mudita Agarwal, Dr. Jyoti and Dr. Sudhir Kumar Pandey).

Certificate and Prize Distribution:

Following the competitions, certificates and prizes were distributed to the winners and participants as a token of appreciation for their efforts. The winners of the poster and oral presentation competitions were honored for their exceptional work.

Conclusion:

The celebration of National Science Day 2025 was a resounding success, fostering scientific curiosity and encouraging students to engage in research and innovation. Dr. Madhavi and Dr. Shivangi Mathur took the lead role in organizing this event, and with the coordination of all the faculty members, they made the event successful. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the organizing committee, expressing gratitude to the faculty members, students, and judges for their valuable contributions. The enthusiasm and participation of students made the event memorable and inspiring. Faculty of the School of Science and Humanities, including Ms. Sonakshi Saxena, Dr. Shivangi, Dr. Tenzit Tyagi, Mr. Dhiraj Chaudhary, Dr. Nishikant Bharti, Dr. Madhavi, Dr. Jyoti, Dr. Sudhir Kumar Pandey, and Dr. Priyanka Bhardwaj, attended the event to show their support and celebrate this special occasion.
