Court Visit Activities

1. Arrival and Orientation

2. Observation of Court Proceedings

During the visit, students observed sessions in both civil and criminal courts, gaining exposure to the formal courtroom decorum. They witnessed:

  • Bail hearings and witness examinations
  • Legal arguments between the prosecution and defense lawyers
  • The importance of documentation and procedural formalities in civil cases
  • The roles of public prosecutors, defense lawyers, and judicial officers
  • Presentation of evidence and cross-examinations

Students also learned about the hierarchy of courts and the jurisdiction of different judicial bodies. The structured format of proceedings, from case presentation to verdict delivery, was particularly insightful.

After the court proceedings, an interactive session was held with practicing lawyers and judicial officers. They discussed career opportunities in law, ethical responsibilities of legal professionals, and challenges in the justice system.
