The Maharishi School of Business Management, Noida, in collaboration with the International College of Financial Planning (ICOFP), as an outcome of the MOU signed under IQAC, organized a workshop on the theme “Turn Your Swipe Game Into Investment Gains: Gen Z Gets Smart” on 26th November, 2024 (Tuesday) in the auditorium at MUIT, Noida Campus.

The speakers of the workshop were Mr. Rishi Narang, Academic Head of the International College of Financial Planning (ICOFP), and Mr. Ranjeev Singh Lalotra, Vice President of Bajaj Capital Financial Services. The workshop commenced with the felicitation of the guest speakers by Prof. (Dr.) Smita Mishra ma’am (Dean, SOBM) and Dr. Aditya Yadav (Deputy Dean, SOBM).

The first speaker, Mr. Rishi Narang, focuses on raising awareness about the importance of investing early and stressing how even small contributions to investments today can yield significant financial benefits in the future. Students learned that investing is essential not only for building wealth but also for ensuring long-term financial security and achieving financial independence.

A key component of the workshop was the introduction of compounding theory, which illustrated how money grows over time when invested. Through real-life examples and calculations, the workshop showcased how the earlier one starts investing, the greater the benefits of compounding.

Additionally, the workshop provided an in-depth overview of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) course, highlighting its curriculum and the career opportunities it offers. The next speaker, Mr. Ranjeev Singh Lalotra, emphasized the growing demand for certified financial planners, especially in a world where individuals are increasingly seeking professional guidance for managing their finances. Job opportunities for CFPs are abundant in banks, investment firms, financial advisory companies, and insurance companies, where they can provide expert advice and services to clients looking to secure their financial futures.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session that helped the students to express their opinions and clear their doubts, promoting discussions among the participants.

Overall, the workshop was a valuable learning experience that combined practical investment strategies with career insights, inspiring students to seize control of their financial futures. By introducing the importance of early investing, SIPs, and the opportunities available through the CFP course, the session empowered students to make informed financial decisions and explore career paths in the financial planning industry.
