National Seminar – “Importance of IPR in global economic environment’’

Objective of the Seminar: Objective of the Seminar: The guest lecture aimed to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of IPR and its critical role in the global economic environment. IPRs motivate entrepreneurs to create new advances in their industry. They also allow for the free flow of information, which can lead to improvements on existing products and processes.
Participating Students: B.Pharm and D.Pharm students were the primary attendees of the guest lecture.
The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Noida campus, in coordination with IQAC, organized a national seminar on the theme “Importance of IPR in the global economic environment "on October 25, 2024 (Friday) in the Maharishi Auditorium, MUIT Noida Campus.
Ms. Pooja Kumar was the guest speaker. She is a registered patent agent and government-accredited start-up facilitator and is now working as Founder and Director at Innove Intellect LLP, Ghaziabad. She has conducted 300+ awareness programs; she's honored as a top woman consultant (2020), filed nearly 2000 patents, and mentored start-ups in various fields. Ms. Pooja Kumar is recognized internationally, invited as a panelist by an IP radio station in Nigeria, and mentors law students in South Africa. Recently, in February 2024, Pooja Kumar was awarded the Bharat Gaurav Ratna women entrepreneur award, highlighting her exemplary contribution in the patent field. The lecture commenced with the felicitation of the guest speaker by Dr. Shweta Bajaj ma’am (Dean, SOPS).
The guest lecture highlighted the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) that give the creator legitimate rights to verify their creation. These legitimate rights give a restrictive right to the creator/producer or its administrator who utilizes it’s development/item for a constrained time frame. So, for the development of countries and economic growth, intellectual property rights play a vital role.
The lecture concluded with an engaging query session and a quiz competition where students actively participated by posing questions and seeking clarifications. The winners of the quiz competition received a cash prize of 500 Rs. by Pooja Kumar (guest speaker). More than 100 students have attended the session; this interactive segment allowed students to gain deeper knowledge into the subject matter. The session was a valuable opportunity for students to engage with the speaker and gain further insights, making the event a memorable and educational experience for all attendees.
