School of Engineering & Technology, MUIT Noida Campus, recently hosted an impactful workshop on Fundamentals of Python Programming (October 18th & October 19th, 2024) in collaboration with iHub DivyaSampark, IIT Roorkee, and IQAC. Two days of hands-on sessions were led by AI experts Mr. Ashish and Mr. Divyansh; they covered Python fundamentals and its real-world applications in data science, automation, and web development. 200 students of 1st year participated, and every student received the certificate after learning various concepts.

 

Objective

The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of Python programming, highlighting its applications in various fields such as data science, web development and automation.

 

Participants

200 students from various disciplines within the School of Engineering Technology, along with faculty members, attended the workshop.

 

Overview of the Workshop

The workshop commenced with a brief introduction by the resource persons, Ashish Kumar Singh and Divyansh Singh, who outlined the agenda and objectives. The session was structured into interactive segments that included:

 

1. Introduction to Python

  • Brief history and significance of Python.
  • Overview of Python's applications in the real world.

 

2. Setting up the Environment

  • Guidance on installing Python and setting up IDEs (Integrated Development Environments).
  • Introduction to Jupyter Notebooks for Interactive Coding.

 

3. Basic Concepts of Python

  • Data types, variables, and basic operations.
  • Control structures: loops and conditionals.

 

4. Functions and Modules

  • Defining and calling functions.
  • Understanding modules and libraries.

 

5. Hands-on Coding Session

  • Participants engaged in practical exercises, including simple projects that reinforced the concepts covered.
  • Real-time coding challenges to encourage collaboration and problem-solving.

 

6. Q&A Session

  • Open floor for participants to ask questions and clarify doubts.
  • Discussion on common pitfalls and best practices in Python programming.
