Perfect health means no weakness anywhere; that is, no weakness should remain in the body, in the mind, or in the relationship between the body and the mind- Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
To fulfill this thought of his holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ji, we celebrated the “NATIONAL NUTRITION WEEK” from 1/September/2024 to 7/September/2024.
It is very well known to us all that nutrition plays a very important role in our lives—from the time a child is born in the womb and it continues even after birth. A lot of importance should be given to nutrition, as it is important for our health.
As per the requirement of our curriculum, Semester I and Semester III students of B.Sc. Ayurveda Diet and Nutrition celebrated ‘National Nutrition Week’ under the guidance of Dean Dr. Mudita Agarwal and Deputy Dean Mr. Gaurav Thakur.
Participants: B.Sc. Ayurveda Diet and Nutrition students
The Nutrition Week was organized from September 1 to September 7. Students were divided into two groups and prepared a variety of dishes, including salads, sprouts, soups, raitas, and snacks, catering to different types of diets. The nutrition lab was decorated with charts on various topics related to diet and nutrition, such as different types of diets, the importance of nutrition, and the health benefits of a balanced diet. The preparation phase for the program was smooth, marked by active participation and coordination.
The competition was judged by the Deans and Heads of various departments of MUIT, with Ms. Richa, a senior dietitian from Yatharth Hospital, serving as the special guest. The participants showcased their culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition by presenting innovative and delicious dishes that met diverse dietary requirements. The event was not only a competition but also a valuable learning experience, allowing students to interact with nutrition experts and receive feedback on their creations.
Throughout the week, various workshops were organized to educate students and staff about the importance of maintaining a balanced diet for optimal health. Guest speakers shared their insights and experiences in the field of nutrition, providing valuable information to everyone in attendance.
In addition to practical cooking and meal preparation, students engaged in discussions on food safety, food labeling, and the impact of food choices on overall health. The week served as a platform for students to showcase their skills and deepen their understanding of nutrition's role in promoting well-being.
