Objective of the Event: The main objective of this workshop was to enhance content creation skills in news writing and editing for print and digital media for students.

Participating Students:  Students from BA (J&MC) and MA (J&MC) participated in the workshop on “News Writing and Editing for News Portal”.

The Department of Media from the School of Media and Animation organized a highly informative and enriching workshop on “News Writing and Editing for News Portal.” The event featured renowned journalist and Editor-in-Chief Mr. Ajay Prakash Mishra from www.Janjwar.com, who shared his expertise in writing skills.

The workshop commenced with a traditional "Guru Puja" and lamp-lighting ceremony. Following this, Mr. Mishra was introduced by Mr. Shivam Yadav, Editor of Electronic Media in the Media Department, and felicitated by Dr. Shamboo Sharan Gupta, Head of the Department of Media.

Mr. Mishra addressed the students, urging them to be avid learners and sensitive writers. He shared his journalistic journey, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and empathy in content creation. He highlighted that writing should be free from prejudice and bias, with a careful choice of words. He also noted the importance of staying current with trends in content creation, as readers are drawn to relevant and trending topics. Mr. Mishra emphasized that the scope of writing extends beyond print media to include electronic and digital media.

Dr. Shamboo Sharan Gupta concluded the workshop by expressing gratitude to Mr. Ajay Prakash Mishra for his valuable contributions. He also acknowledged the support of Dr. Trapty Agarwal and Dr. Smita Mishra in organizing the event. Dr. Gupta reiterated the department's commitment to offering exceptional education and training in media studies. Faculty and staff of the Media Department, including Dr. Mithilesh Kumar, Mr. Shivam Yadav, Mr. Arvind Kumar Singh, Mr. Mohan Singh Rawat, and Mr. Sunil Kumar Yadav, were present during the workshop.

The workshop concluded with students taking photos with the subject expert, Mr. Ajay Prakash Mishra. The workshop on News Writing and Editing for News Portals was a colossal success. Participants left the event inspired and equipped with valuable knowledge and skills, well-prepared to excel in the field of journalism.
