On August 15,2024, IQAC and Anti Ragging Committee of Maharishi University of Information Technology, , Noida, organized a program on Anti-Ragging day  in line with University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines to promote a safe and welcoming environment for all students. The concept of Anti-Ragging Week, introduced by the UGC, aims to raise awareness among students about the severe consequences of ragging and the importance of fostering a campus culture rooted in respect and camaraderie.

The event began with an inauguration ceremony where the university’s dignitaries reiterated the institution's strict adherence to UGC's anti-ragging policies. They emphasized that Maharishi University has a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, with any violation resulting in severe disciplinary action. The dignitaries conveyed the university’s commitment to maintaining a ragging-free campus, encouraging students to report any instances of ragging and support each other in creating a safe academic environment.

As part of the celebrations, two dance performances creatively depicted the themes of unity and the importance of a supportive community. The first performance symbolized the spirit of friendship, illustrating how collaboration and mutual respect can overcome hostility. The second dance highlighted the beauty of diversity on campus, reinforcing the idea that every student, regardless of background, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

Following the dance performances, a thought-provoking skit performed by a group of students vividly portrayed the harmful effects of ragging, including psychological trauma and disruptions to academic life. The skit also emphasized the importance of standing up against ragging and supporting victims. The powerful performances left the audience deeply moved and more aware of the gravity of ragging and its consequences.

The celebration served as a reminder to all students and staff at Maharishi University that creating a safe and nurturing environment is a collective responsibility. The university's strict compliance with UGC guidelines on anti-ragging was clearly communicated throughout the events, reinforcing the message that Maharishi University is dedicated to maintaining a campus where every student can thrive without fear or intimidation.

In conclusion, celebration of Anti-Ragging day at Maharishi University, Noida Campus, was a successful event. It not only entertained but also educated the university community, ensuring that the message of a ragging-free campus was heard loud and clear.
