Objective of the Event: The workshop aimed to provide students with insights into the intricacies of news anchoring and reporting in the contemporary media landscape.
Participating Students: Students from BA (J&MC) and MA (J&MC) participated in a workshop on ‘The Roadmap to a Career in News Anchoring’.
The Department of Media, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Noida, in coordination with IQAC, conducted a workshop on ‘The Roadmap to a Career in News Anchoring’. The program started with ‘Guru Puja’ and lamp lighting.
The workshop featured Senior Anchor Ms. Shipra Jha from News 18, who shared her extensive experience and expertise in the field of news anchoring on TV channels. The workshop aimed to provide students with insights into the intricacies of news anchoring and reporting in the contemporary media landscape.
The event began with a traditional 'Guru Puja' and lamp lighting ceremony. Following that, Ms. Shipra Jha was introduced, and she was felicitated by Dr. Shamboo Sharan Gupta, HoD of the Department of Media. Emphasized the importance of news anchoring and reporting skills in today's fast-paced media industry.
During her presentation, Ms. Jha spoke about various aspects of news anchoring, highlighting the significance of credibility, clarity, and impartiality in delivering news to the audience. She also provided tips on effective communication, developing an on-air presence in TV channels, and handling challenging situations during live news broadcasts. Her talk was peppered with captivating anecdotes and real-life examples, keeping the students thoroughly engaged.
Throughout the workshop, Ms. Shipra Jha encouraged interactive sessions, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences. Her dynamic presentation style and vast knowledge left everyone inspired and motivated. She told the students all the process and the efforts of making news.
As the workshop concluded, Dr. Shambhoo Sharan Gupta, HoD of the Department of Media, expressed his gratitude to Ms. Shipra Jha for sharing his insights and expertise with the students. He also extended thanks to Dr. Trapty Agarwal, Dean Academic, Dr. Smita Mishra, Deputy Dean Academic, Mr. Sanjay Kamal, Admin, and Mr. Girish Agnihotri for their support in organizing the workshop. Dr. Gupta reiterated the department's commitment to providing quality education and training in media studies.
On this occasion of the workshop, Dr. Mithilesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Mr. Shivam Yadav, Mr. Arvind Kumar Singh, Mr. Mohan Singh Rawat, and Mr. Sunil Kumar Yadav were present. After the workshop, the students also took photos with subject expert Ms. Shipra Jha. In conclusion, the workshop on THE ROADMAP TO A CAREER IN NEWS ANCHORING was a resounding success. Participants left feeling inspired and equipped with valuable knowledge and skills to excel in the field of journalism.
