A Report on

Orientation Programme-2021

20th September, 2021

Organized by: Maharishi Law School in coordination with IQAC

Objective of the Event: Student Orientation Programme plays an important role in a student’s transition to a college life. Orientation programmes are aimed at familiarizing the students to an unknown campus environment, its faculties and infrastructure. It helps them to find their way in the college for the next three years and also encourages them to get better adjusted to the college environment. Continuing its tradition, the College hosts the Orientation Programme at the start of each new session for incoming students. This initiative serves to orient newly admitted students with the College campus and encourages interactions with their teachers and peers.

The event started with an enthusiastic welcome speech delivered by Dean KB Asthana, emphasizing the dynamic ethos of the department and its dedication to student achievement. Engaging sessions provided a glimpse into the distinctive educational approach of the institution, comprehensive curriculum information, and the extensive range of resources aimed at aiding students throughout their academic endeavors. This coordination was efficiently overseen by Dean Dr. K.B Asthana and Deputy Dean Annu Bahl Mehra.

The guest speaker Mr. Jaiind Kumar Singh, PCS (J) Secretary, DLSA, Gautam Budh Nagar  delivered an overview of the legal career landscape in India: This session could have provided insights into various practice areas (litigation, corporate law, intellectual property, etc.), career paths within the legal profession (litigation lawyer, corporate counsel, judge, etc.), and emerging trends in the legal field.

During orientation, students were informed about the various cells and their activities, infrastructural facilities, extracurricular activities, learning resources, and the college culture. They were made to understand their role and responsibilities during college life. Therefore, in order to give the most accurate view of an institution, there must be both an academic and social component to the orientation program. They were also informed about the rules & regulations, campus safety and the academic calendar. The programme concluded with a Q&A session.
