Introduction


On 27th May 2024, Students comprising of  P.G. Diploma in diet and Nutrition, B.Sc. Ayurveda, Diet and Nutrition, B.A. in Maharishi Yoga, P.G. Diploma in maharishi Yoga , M.A. in Consciousness visited Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd. in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into the operations, manufacturing processes, quality control, and product offerings of one of the leading companies in the field of Ayurveda healthcare and wellness.

Objectives

The main objectives of the visit were to:

  1. Understand the manufacturing processes involved in the production of Ayurvedic products.
  2. Learn about the quality control measures and standards adhered to by the company.
  3. Explore the range of products offered by Maharishi Ayurveda.
  4. Gain insights into the company's research and development (R&D) efforts.
  5. Establish potential collaboration opportunities for future projects.

Itinerary of the Visit

  1. Arrival and Welcome:
    • The team arrived at Maharishi Ayurveda at 2:00 PM and was warmly welcomed by the company representatives.
    • An introductory session was conducted by Mr. Manish Bhardwaj, who provided an overview of the company’s history, mission, and core values.
  2. Tour of the Manufacturing Facility:
    • The team was guided through the manufacturing facility, where they observed the various stages of production.
    • Key areas visited included the raw material storage, processing units ( Paste Department, Tablet Department, Ras Rashayan Department), formulation sections, packaging units, and the quality control lab.
  3. Quality Control and Standards:
    • The quality control lab visit included a detailed explanation of the testing procedures and standards followed to ensure the safety and efficacy of the products.
    • All the work done is Machine Oriented , It is completely “No Touch policy”.
    • No Preservative are used in Products.
    • The team was introduced to the protocols for raw material selection, in-process quality checks, and final product testing.
    • Green Cards are used on Raw material.
    • Blue card is used on Selected material from Raw material after standardization of raw material.
  4. Product Showcase:
    • An exhibition of the company’s product range was organized, featuring various categories such as dietary supplements, personal care products, herbal teas, and wellness products.
    • The team had the opportunity to interact with the product managers and learn about the benefits and unique selling points of each product.
    • Some Products are Chawanpraash, Amla Juice, Gulkand, Amritkalash etc.
  5. Research and Development:
    • The R&D department provided insights into ongoing research projects aimed at developing new formulations and improving existing products.
    • The emphasis on scientific validation of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge was highlighted.
  6. Discussion on Collaboration Opportunities:
    • A meeting was held with the senior management to discuss potential areas of collaboration, including joint research projects, internships, and academic partnerships.
    • The discussion also covered the possibility of organizing workshops and training sessions for students and professionals in the field of Ayurveda.          

Observations and Learnings
