Objective of the International Conference: The objective of the International Conference "Comparative Labour Laws in South Asia: Labour and Management Perspective," is to provide a platform for in-depth analysis, discussion, and comparison of labour laws across South Asia and the main objective of the conference was to foster dialogue and collaboration among diverse stakeholders including policymakers, legal experts, academics, employers, employees, and representatives from civil society organizations.
Maharishi University of Information and Technology, Noida organised a two day International Conference on Comparative Labour Laws in South Asia: Labour and Management perspective in collaboration with National Labour Law Association and Friedrich Abert Stiftung (Germany) on 28th to 29th August 2023 in Noida Campus.
The Inauguration Ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Chander Shekhar, former Judge, Delhi High Court along with Prof S.C Srivastava, Secretary General, National Labour Law Association, Prof Pravin Sinha, Miss Elena Gerasimova, Shri Ajay Prakash Shrivastava, Chancellor MUIT, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Director General Prof Grp Capt O.P Sharma, Dr. Trapty Agarwal, Dean Academics MUIT, Dr Smita Mishra, Deputy Dean Academics, Prof Dr. K.B Asthana, Dean Maharishi Law School were also present along with other faculty members and students of MUIT.
More than 100 papers were presented in the conference by the participants from the academy and industry.
The sessions began from 12:00 PM and continued till 4:30 PM on Day 1. There were four Technical Sessions on Day 1. The sessions were filled with knowledge, enthusiasm and exchange of ideas. The interactive sessions gave a new dimension to the participants as they vowed to engage more in research and exploration of knowledge. The chair and Co-chairs also put forth their valuable ideas to help the participants enrich their thought process.
Day 2 comprised of working session which was presided by Prof (Dr.) B T Kaul, Formerly Professor of Law, University of Delhi and Former Chairperson, National Judicial Academy, New Delhi. It was co-chaired by Prof (Dr.) S C Srivastava, Prof (Dr.) Pravin Sinha and Prof (Dr.) Aparna Sharma, Dean Noida International University. Other scholarly speakers comprised of Dr. Sunil Kumar Agarwal, AOR Supreme Court of India, Dr Lalit Kumar Sharma, Dean Mangalmay Institute of Management and Technology and Dr. Neelam Tyagi, Assistant Professor, University of Delhi. This session was extremely knowledge worthy and it was an honour to hear words of wisdom from such eminent speakers who shared their years of expertise and experiences with everyone.
The best Research Paper was awarded to Mr. Ritvik. Other participants were given Certificates for their participation. Thereafter Prof K.B Asthana Sir summarized the two day conference comprising of all the technical sessions and also delivered the vote of thanks. Overall it was an extremely enriching experience and we hope forward for more such events in near future.
