Objective of the International Conference: The primary objective of the Conference "Family Law: Contemporary Challenges & Solutions," was to provide a platform for legal experts, scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world to come together and address the evolving landscape of family law.

An International Conference on 3-4 April, 2021 was organized by Maharishi Law School, MUIT in its Noida Campus in association with Female Wave of Change & National Labour Law Association. The theme of the conference was “Family Law: Contemporary Challenges & Solutions.

The event commenced with an inaugural session featuring esteemed dignitaries such as Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Ajay Prakash Shrivastava and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mohan Pieris P.C., Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. Keynote addresses were delivered by Prof (Dr.) S.C. Srivastava and foreign dignitaries including Ms. IngunBol-de Bock and Dr. Sakia Harkema. Technical sessions followed, focusing on various subthemes including the institution of marriage, right of maintenance, gender equality, and the Uniform Civil Code. The sessions provided a platform for participants to present papers and exchange views on contemporary family law challenges. The event's success was attributed to the efforts of organizers, faculty members, and enthusiastic students of the law school.

The International Conference on Family Laws organized by Maharishi Law School, MUIT concluded on 4th April 2021, following three informative technical sessions. These sessions covered various aspects of family law, including domestic violence, the impact of COVID-19 on family relations, issues in inheritance law, honor killings, and LGBTQ rights. Esteemed professionals chaired these sessions, ensuring their success. The valedictory session featured Prof. (Dr.) V. Vijay Kumar, Vice Chancellor of National Law Institute University, Bhopal, as the Chief Guest. Prof. Kumar emphasized India's ratification to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and discussed transnational family law issues. The session also included addresses from Prof. B.P. Singh, Vice Chancellor of MUIT, and Shri Ajay Prakash Shrivastava, Hon’ble Chancellor, highlighting the importance of family law and congratulating the organizers and participants. Prof. (Dr.) Bhim Sen Singh and Dr. Ajay Kumar addressed changing legal trends. Dr. K.B. Asthana delivered a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support received and the efforts put in by all involved. Student convenors expressed gratitude to the organizing and technical teams, as well as student coordinators, for the successful culmination of the international conference.
