2nd Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Intra Moot Court Competition


 8th-9th April, 2022


Organized by: Maharishi law School in coordination with IQAC.


Objective of the Event: The primary aim of the competition was to provide law students with a platform to enhance their advocacy, research, and oral presentation skills. By participating in simulated courtroom proceedings, students had the opportunity to develop critical legal skills essential for a successful career in law.

Maharishi Moor court Society of Maharishi Law School, in collaboration with (IQAC) organized a Intra Moot Court Competition from 8th April 2022 to 9th April 2022. The moot proposition was related to multiple facets of criminal law, law of torts and constitutional law.

The inaugural session started with the lighting of lamp by Prof. Ajay Sir, Dean Academics, Dr. K. B Asthana, Dean, MLS, Dr. Annu Bahl Mehra, Dy. Dean, MLS and Chief Guests at 10 a.m. At 10.05 a.m. Dr. K. B Asthana, Dean, MLS welcomed everyone present at the event, followed by felicitation of all the guests. At 10.30, Draw of lots and exchange of memorial were done followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Annu Bahl Mehra, Dy. Dean, MLS.

10 teams were selected for the Preliminary Round. There was one Preliminary round on 8th April which was conducted in different rooms and was judged by 10 well-known legal personalities including advocates and academicians. The Preliminary round was conducted in two slots i.e. Morning and evening. In morning slot, 8 teams were competing against each other and in evening slot 2 teams got the place. Every team was advised to be settling down in their respective rooms. The Preliminary round was started at 11.15 a.m. All the teams were competent and it was a tough battle.

The final round of 2nd Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Intra Moot Court Competition-2022 was organized by Moot Court Committee on 9th April 2022. The session was started by the declaration of preliminary result in which 4 teams were selected for Semifinal Round. Welcome address was given by Dr. K.B Asthana Dean MLS.  All the guest were felicitated by all faculty members. After the Felicitation, semifinal round takes place, At 1.00 p.m. Result of semifinal was declared with the Draw of Lots and Exchange of Memorials for the Final Round, in which two teams were selected for the final round. The final round was started at 02:40 p.m and it was presided by guests Shri Murari Tiwari,  Mr. Tadimalla Baskar Gowtham and Mr. Umang Shankar, both the teams were competent and it was a tough battle. Both the teams performed well by giving their arguments by supporting the leading judgement. After hearing the argument of both side the judge of the event pronounce their judgement in the favour of Sanjay Chavre, Tanya Tyagi and  Himanshi Mittal.

The event was joined by, Honourable Chancellor Shri Ajay Prakash Shrivastava of MUIT, Noida, He praise the participant by giving his warm blessings. Dean Academics Prof Ajay Kumar was also present their and he motivate students to organise such kind of events. Followed by the event all the guest shared their evaluation and share their experience.

Finally the prize distribution ceremony took place and a Trophy of Winner goes to the Team of Sanjay Chavre, Tanya Tyagi and  Himanshi Mittal. The Runner-up trophy won by the team of Ahooti Subedi, Navdeep Mavi, Atul Vaid. Accordingly Best Researcher award won by Sheikh- Al-Amin, Best memorial award won by Anil Nimesh, Gunjan Sansanwal and Prateek Srivastava and the last award that is Best Mooter award was won by the mooter 1 of the winning team, Himanshi Mittal.

Finally Vote of thanks was given by Dr. K.B Asthana Dean MLS. In his speech he said that participating more in moot court helps law students to build confidence to present the their case in front of the judge. Participating regularly in the moot court helps the students get familiar with the proceedings in actual courtrooms.
