“Parent Teacher Meeting 2020”

Objective of the Event: The Parent Teacher Meeting was organized on 19th December, 2020 to discuss about students’ progress and performance. The goal was to build a healthy relationship with the students and parents. The parents were intimated about the meeting well in advance through network administrator and mentors.

Dean and Dy. Dean introduced parents with the Vision and Mission of the institute and the departments along with anti-ragging rules, focus on quality education, library facilities and general criteria of the institute. They also highlighted the best practices followed by the institute for effective teaching learning process and how it help students in placement and for higher studies.

During 10.30 am to 2.00 pm, parents were directed to respective classrooms for one to one interaction with mentors and faculties. The parents were informed about the attendance criteria (75% according to MUIT norms), students’ performance during Sessional Semester Exam and End MUIT examination. Discussion was focused on student’s specific strengths and weaknesses in individual subjects and students discipline in classrooms, restricted mobile usage in classrooms. The suggestions from the parents about their wards’ interests and learning were noted.

Outcome of the event:

Total 05 parents participated in the PTM where they became aware about the rules and regulations of the institute, teaching learning methodologies and various activities going on for overall student welfare. There was one to one session between parents and student mentors for analyzing students’ performance and steps necessary for the improvement of their wards’ skills. Parents expressed their gratitude and enthusiasm for this interactive session with the faculties so that they can know better about their wards performance at the institute.

The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that the progress and development of the students depend on the joint efforts of parents and teachers. For this purpose, parents agreed to keep a close vigilance on the actions of their child, and to keep in constant touch with the mentors.
