“Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity.”

Objective of the Event: The objective of the workshop was to educate students about Intellectual Property Rights and the crucial role they play in fostering innovation and creativity and to highlight the contributions of women in the field of Intellectual Property and emphasize the need for gender inclusivity in innovation and creativity.

Maharishi Law school, Maharishi University of Information Technology in coordination with SSRANA & CO. and IQAC, Noida organised a workshop on "Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity" to commemorate World Intellectual Property Day. The aim of the workshop is to provide students with insights into Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and the significant role of women in driving innovation and creativity.

The workshop commenced with opening remarks by Prof. (Dr.) K.B Asthana (Dean MLS), who welcomed the esteemed guests and participants. All guests were felicitated by faculty members.

Guest speakers, Mr. Johny Solomon Raj and Ms. Shilpi Saurav Sharan, Managing and Senior Associates respectively at SSRANA & CO., delivered informative sessions on Intellectual Property Rights. They provided insights into various aspects of IP protection, highlighting the role of women in driving innovation and creativity through the safeguarding of Intellectual Property.

The workshop included interactive sessions and a Q&A segment, encouraging active participation from students and faculty members. Prof. (Dr.) K.B. Asthana (Dean MLS), Dr. Annu Bahl Mehra (Deputy Dean MLS), along with other faculty members, were present from Maharishi School of Law. Dr. Trapty Agarwal Dean Academics, Dr. Smita Mishra, and faculties from respective departments also attended the event, enriching the discussions.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. (Dr.) K.B. Asthana, expressing gratitude to the speakers, organizers, and participants for their contributions. The workshop was deemed highly enriching and successful in achieving its objectives of imparting valuable knowledge and insights to the attendees.
