Objective of the Guest Lecture: The objective of organizing the Guest Lecture on Taxation Law at Maharishi Law School, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Noida, was to enhance students' understanding and proficiency in the field of taxation.

Maharishi Law school, Maharishi University of Information Technology in coordination with IQAC, Noida organised Guest Lecture on the Subject Matter of Taxation Law, as a part of student skills enhancement program on 28-09-2022. Around 45 students of Maharishi Law School were present at this knowledge sharing session. Special sessions like these are meant to be organised for the enhancement of knowledge in the subject matter, and for the professional growth of students. The lecture was delivered by Hon’ble Mr. Kishori Lal an officer of Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax Department batch of 1989 IRS (C & CE).

Mr. Lal has exceptional carrier of 31 years of working experience in various capacities in the Department dealing with Customs, Central Excise, Service Tax, Narcotics and Goods and Service Tax. Mr. Lal has vast experience of adjudication, appeals and enforcement of Indirect Tax matters. Mr. Lal has seen the litigation process in the capacity of Adjudicating Authority, Appellate Authority, and Reviewing Authority and as Enforcement Authority in the Customs and GST Department. Apart from these achievements Hor’nble Mr. Kishori Lal is author of 3 books: -

1. "Export Import, Law, Procedure & Policy" published by CENTAX Publications New Delhi,
2.  "Interpretation of Fiscal Statutes" Published by Snow White Publications Mumbai.
3. "Interpretation of Indirect Tax Statutes Including Goods and Services Tax" Published by Bloomsbury (India) Pvt Limited, 2nd edition of which has been released very recently in Dec 2021.

The session commenced with opening remarks by Prof. (Dr.) K.B Asthana, Dean of MLS, extending a warm welcome to Mr. Kishori Lal. During the lecture, Mr. Lal meticulously elucidated various concepts of Taxation Law in India, ranging from foundational principles to practical applications. His comprehensive explanations provided students with valuable insights, bridging the gap between theory and real-world scenarios.

The guest lecture proved to be a resounding success, enriching students' understanding of taxation law and equipping them with practical knowledge essential for their professional growth. Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn from Mr. Kishori Lal's wealth of experience and expertise. The session inspired students to explore innovative approaches and deepen their engagement with the subject matter.
