“Legal Aid Camp at Dujana Village”

Objective of the Camp: The primary objective of the camp was to provide legal assistance and guidance to the residents of the village, especially those who lacked access to legal resources and representation.

Maharishi Law School, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Noida, in association with the District Legal Services Authority, organized a legal aid camp in the village of Dujana on April 29, 2023. The goal of initiating the respective camp was to raise legal awareness and vigilance among the residents, which was in turn attended by approximately 60 students. Subsequently, the event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests from the District Legal Services Authority, Advocate Kavita Nagar Ji and Advocate Radha Tyagi Ji, along with Block Pramukh-Shri Ompal Ji, and with Shri Rishipal Ji, Shri Rakesh Mittal Ji, Shri Shyamender Ji, and Shri Bhupender Ji.

The event included legal speeches and discussions on a variety of legal themes, and DLSA advocates educated us on the POCSO Act and the rights of children and women in the current changing environment. Prof. Dr. K.B. Asthana, Dean MLS, spoke about the right to information and its legal implications; Dr. Annu Bahl Mehra, Deputy Dean MLS, highlighted the importance of Article 39A; Dr. Deependra Pathak spoke about cyber security; and Mr. Arun Kumar spoke about criminal law.

The entire session was productive and enlightening, and all the participants gave their valuable contributions throughout. Last but not least, we are highly grateful to Shri Ompal Ji for his impeccable cooperation, support, and kindness in this event. Our hearts are overjoyed, and we hope to see many such noteworthy events in the future. The Legal Aid Camp at Dujana Village by Maharishi Law School served as a commendable initiative to promote access to justice and empower marginalized communities through legal assistance and awareness. The program was concluded by a vote of thanks by Mr. Arun Kumar, Assistant Professor (Law).
