“Importance of Research in Mooting”

Objective of the Event: The objective of the webinar was to provide law students and legal educators with valuable insights into conducting effective legal research for moot court competitions. Through this event, participants will be able to analyze a legal problem, research relevant laws, prepare written submissions (memorials), and present oral arguments.
The “Maharishi Law School” of Maharishi University of Information Technology, Noida, organized a webinar on “Importance of Research in Mooting” on 2nd April, 2022. It was conducted via Zoom meeting. The webinar was attended by approximately 70–80 students from the Maharishi Law School, Noida Campus. The guests of the event were Assistant Prof. Udit Raj Sharma, Department of Law & Social Science, UPES School of Law, Dehradun, and Ms. Alini Saxena, National Law University, Jodhpur. Mr. Arun Kumar, Assistant Professor (Law), commenced the opening of the event by introducing the guests, faculties, and students. The event was followed by the welcome address of Dr. Annu Bahl Mehra, Dy. Dean of MLS. In her speech, she introduced the honorable guest with her flawless achievements in both academic and professional life. She also emphasized the importance of such a workshop for law students since it helps to provide insight on the pragmatic aspects of effective mooting. The lecture given by Prof. Udit Raj Sharma and Ms. Alini Saxena was not only informative but also instructive. The purpose of conducting the workshop was to brief us about the workings of the moot court. Dos and don'ts were very well explained.
