“MUIT YOUNG SHARKS 2024”

Dare to Dream, Dare to Compete

Objective of the Event: Aim to foster entrepreneurial spirit among students and provide them with a platform to showcase their innovative business ideas.

Participating Students: Students from various colleges and schools across the nation, in a team, participated through registration and submission of business ideas.

The “MUIT Young Sharks”: A Business Plan Competition, an annual mega event hosted by Maharishi School of Business Management, MUIT, Noida. It was a dynamic and engaging event showcasing entrepreneurial talent and innovative business ideas. 

The Business Plan Competition was a thrilling event that brought together more than 70 teams from various colleges across India. The enthusiasm and diversity among the participants added to the vibrant atmosphere of the competition. After rigorous evaluation based on predetermined criteria, a total of 19 teams were shortlisted to present their business plans before a panel of esteemed judges.

The event started with the Guru Pooja, followed by the felicitation of distinguished judges, Mr. Gursaurabh Singh and Mr. Chandan Kumar. Mr. Gursaurabh Singh is the founder of Dhruv Vidyut, a revolutionary electric conversion kit for bicycles. He was recently featured on History Channel and Shark Tank India and is also a guest lecturer at many renowned universities, such as IIT, JNU, JAMIA, DSEU, IDC, and GB PANT. Mr. Chandan Kumar is an entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the fields of business advisory, banking, HR outsourcing, and social work. He is the co-founder and president of a non-profit organisation, “OUR MITTI Foundation,” that works in the fields of Education, Self Employment, Health and Culture.

A welcome note by Prof. (Dr.) Smita Mishra, Dean of Maharishi School of Business Management, encouraged participants and boosted their confidence. A total of 16 teams from all across the nation turned out on the day of the event, and 8 teams presented their business ideas before the lunch break, while the remaining 8 teams presented after lunch. Every team was expected to answer the queries related to their business concept put forward by the esteemed judges. Through rigorous evaluation by judges and mentors, participants as well as the audience received valuable feedback and guidance to refine plans and strengthen entrepreneurial skills. Participants were challenged to develop comprehensive business plans that articulated their vision, strategy, and value proposition. Beyond the competitive aspect, business plan competition fostered collaboration, networking, and learning opportunities among participants, mentors, and industry experts. Winners gained access to funding, mentorship, and resources to launch and expand their ventures, contributing to economic growth and innovation. Ultimately, business plan competition played a vital role in nurturing the next generation of business leaders and driving positive change in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Throughout the competition, the atmosphere buzzed with creativity and ambition. From tech start-ups to sustainable ventures, the diversity of projects reflected the breadth of entrepreneurial spirit within the university community.

Finally, after an evaluation of all the business ideas, the judges announced their decision, selecting the winners who demonstrated exceptional potential and feasibility in their business plans. The event ended by distributing cash prizes and certificates to the winners and participants. 

Details of the Winners

  • 1st Prize: The winner of the thrilling event was Team Morpankh from Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Studies, Delhi. The team presented a business idea based on turning organic scraps into cash for mass organic waste producers and turning such waste into compost, creating a win-win for wallets and planets.

              The participants were awarded a cash prize of ₹ 21,000 and certificates of excellence.

  • 1st Runner up: The first runner up was Team Alchemist AI from National Institute of Technology, Bhopal. The idea was to build the next-gen AI digital workforce for the world.

The participants were awarded with a cash prize of ₹11,000 and certificates of excellence.

  • 2nd Runner up: The second runner up was Team SMK Creations from Maharishi School of Business Management, MUIT, Noida. The idea was about providing customized products of epoxy resin and accessories to reuse material in a better way.

The participants were awarded with a cash prize of ₹5,100 and certificates of excellence.

  • 3rd Runner up: The third runner up was Team Apex from Indraprastha International School, Delhi. The idea was about providing customised products of epoxy resin and accessories to reuse materials in a better way.

The participants were awarded with a cash prize of ₹2,000 and certificates of excellence.

Overall, the "MUIT Young Sharks 2024" was a resounding success. The event not only celebrated entrepreneurship but also provided a platform for innovation, collaboration, and growth.  Teams from all over the nation were pleased with how well-planned and managed the entire event was. The event not only achieved its objectives but also exceeded expectations, leaving a lasting impact on the participants and audience.
