The Maharishi School of Media celebrated "World Radio Day" on Monday, February 13, 2023. The event was graced by the benign presence of Hon’ble Chancellor, Shri Ajay Prakash Shrivastava, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Bhanu Pratap Singh, Hon’ble DG, Prof. (Group Captain), O.P. Sharma, and Shri Ashok Shrivastava, Senior Editor and Anchor, DD News (Advisor, MSM). The Chief Guest for Radio World Day was Dr. Atul K. Tiwari, ADG, All India Radio. The event was divided into two slots: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The details of the event are mentioned below:
10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m.: Ms. Ritu Prashar, HOD, MSM, commenced the event by giving a brief introduction about the event and welcoming all the dignitaries present to celebrate "World Radio Day." A short documentary depicting the history and evolution of radio broadcasting and All India Radio, made by the staff of MSM, was shown to all those present in the seminar hall. It was followed by a short talk on the radio by Mr. Nitin Saxena (Visiting Faculty, MSM). The Hon'ble Chancellor, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, and Chief Guest, Dr. Atul Tiwari, ADG, All India Radio, witnessed the presentations by the students in Seminar Hall, MSM. These were judged by Dr. Mudita Agarwal, Dean, SOC, and Mr. Nitin Saxena, visiting faculty, MSM. Chancellor Shri Ajay Prakash spoke about his love for the radio and encouraged the department of MSM to celebrate World Radio Day. He further delivered a short speech of encouragement to the students. Shri Ashok Shrivastav briefly discussed the significance of radio in our lives. Thereafter, the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor addressed the students to observe the contribution of the mass communication medium in providing news and entertainment across all strata of society. After this, Dr. Atul Tiwari, ADG, All India Radio, inspired and motivated the students by sharing the tactics and nuances of the radio industry and encouraging them to explore their talents. He also spoke about his varied experience in the different sectors he worked in with the Government of India.
