Visit to NSDL at India International Trade Fair
Students of the School of Business Studies (MBA and BBA), on the invitation of NSDL, visited India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan on 16th November, Wednesday.
The students visited the NSDL kiosk where Mr. Gayendra from SEBI explained the importance of investing. Further, the representatives of NSDL briefed about the functioning of the Financial Market in the form of talk show and role-play, where one acted as an employee and the other as an investor. The major topics discussed in the session were-
?Importance and types of investing
?Role of SEBI
?Functioning of Capital Market
?Functioning of Demat Account and Trading Account
?Investor protection
NSDL also organized a quiz competition wherein students participated enthusiastically and won many prizes. It was an interactive and informative session. 32 students were accompanied by all faculty members of SOBS. At the end of the event, students enjoyed delicious snacks.
Later, students explored different cultures and related businesses of different regions all over the world. At IITF, the students visited different counters – from startups to the latest innovations, from basic to advanced gadgets, crockeries to exotic decors, middle eastern dry foods to ‘desi pickles,’ precious jewellery to leather wares, regional attires to organic goods – this fair is a marketplace for all these and more. The fair aims at providing a platform for all kinds of businesses, and showcasing a broad spectrum of services and products. This fair aims to enable open avenues for major business expansion. It is also an excellent platform for government organizations, NGOs, social, and cultural organizations to spread awareness about their programmes and policies.
This was a wonderful experience for all the students. The day was full of information, fun and enjoyment.
