Eligibility Criteria

Admissions to the LLM course takes place for candidates who have secured a minimum of 50% marks in their LL.B or any equivalent degree.

Apart from the eligibility based on previous academic qualifications, inclination should also be kept in mind. LLM is generally pursued by law students and professionals who wish to gain expertise in specialised fields of law, like international law or tax law. Post LLM admission, both the LLM programmes involve regular classes. This programme is to be completed in a period of one year.

Once students have taken admission to LLM at MUIT, they can expect to study some common papers in the 1st semester. However, from the second semester, students will be taking some subjects that are based on the specialisations that they have selected for their master’s degree in law. During the course, students will also have the opportunity to intern with actual law firms to get a good amount of practical knowledge working in the field. During the course, weightage will be given to both internal and external marks. In the very beginning of the degree, the foundation courses are compulsory for all the students in the 1st semester, while the optional courses will include subjects that the students can select according to their interest and future plans of specialisation.
