HACKTOBER FEST 4 October, 2019
Newness is intriguing and fascinating to man since the Neanderthal times. Newness for us is excitement and exuberance, surprise and science, cheerfulness and joy, hope and happiness, boldness and buoyancy, positiveness and passion.
The HacktoberFest ’19 was organised at Coding Blocks (institute). Gurjot and Shubham(I) attended the same. The various presenters and coordinators gave a detailed insight about the working of Git and GitHub, explaining the minute details to the greater complexities. They shared their knowledge to inspire budding open source developers by teaching us all how to pull requests and contribute to open source thereby, becoming a part of the Open Source Community (OSC). One of them gave an informative and captivating talk on how she cracked Amazon Madrid. We also learned about the nitty gritty of Free and Open Source Society (FOSS).
The whole session was practical based and hands-on-experience was gained which is highly valuable and is going to be extremely useful for us in the future. The event was a great learning experience for us and we enjoyed our opportunity there. Gurjot also won a prize for making a PR. There was a photo session with the team and the participants. We hope to get more such opportunities to get further learning experience.
