Details About BA LLB Course: Admission and Job Prospects

In India, the legal profession is one of the fastest-growing professions. Law graduates are the only candidates who can join government offices in all the three organs of Indian Government, i.e., legislative, executive, and judiciary. Not all the professionals are allowed to join high offices in the judiciary sector; it is strictly for law graduates only. Students who are highly interested in pursuing their career in law can do a three-year degree course after completing their graduation in any discipline. Other than this, students can also directly pursue a 5-year degree course immediately after completing 12th class. The three-year degree course is Bachelor of Law (LLB), and Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BA LLB) is a five-year integrated law degree course.

The three-year degree course is mostly pursued by working professionals for adding a qualification to their profile. Whereas students who seriously want to take up law as a career or any other kind of legal profession pursue the BA LLB course. With these courses, students are given theoretical as well as practical training about a court and its proceedings. These courses are offered by various universities and colleges. Even national schools and various private institutions are also offering these courses.

The National Law Schools mostly offer a 5-year degree course under which students are awarded BA or BSc degree after the end of 3 years and after completing 5 years, an LLB degree is awarded. For admission in law colleges, one needs to score a minimum aggregate score in the senior secondary examination or equivalent examination from a recognised board that varies from one institute to the other. Other than this, some of the best BA LLB colleges in Noida and Delhi NCR grant admission on the basis of an entrance exam. Some of the entrance tests that are conducted for this purpose are CLAT, LSAT, and AILET. The questions asked in all these entrance tests are mainly from subjects like reasoning, legal aptitude, general knowledge, mathematics, and English. Besides clearing these entrance exams, students need to face personal interviews conducted by some institutes for final selection. Also, few colleges offer direct admission based on the merit list. After the face to face interview round, a counseling procedure takes place. Then, seats are allotted to students based on the accumulated scores.

To pursue a career in law, one need to have logical skills along with loads of patience. To become a successful lawyer, one needs to do a lot of study and put in a lot of hard work and dedication. This course helps students in improving their logical reasoning, communication skills, and analytical abilities. Students who have completed their law degree with complete sincerity will find a plethora of opportunities to explore. As per the personal preference, one can start practicing as a lawyer in a court or can start an own corporate firm. Graduates can also work for corporate management, legal services, and administrative services.

Apart from this, one can also pursue a career in teaching. One can join national as well as public educational institutes, colleges, and universities.

Law is considered a high-paying profession, but it mostly depends upon the skills, experience, and caliber of every individual.
